Pup Rally Brings Pets Back to School

It's Back to School time at Morris Animal Inn, and we're making "classes" fun for our furry students! Participants in this week's Pup Rally daycare party joined our Class of 2013 for a festive day of games, playtimes and study breaks.

Classmates became acquainted during gym class, where they swam in our indoor pool and ran laps outside. They cheered on football players and band members alike during recess, and took a break for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch. After snoozing during study hall, each dog was sent home with a box of animal cracker cookies and their very own Class of 2013 Morris Animal Inn yearbook.

Cheering on our pups was the Morris Animal Inn staff, who wore varsity letters for the occasion! As a few pets put on cheerleader and football outfits, we egged on the fun with our Pup Rally Cheer: "While band members march to the beat of the woofs, it's time to have some fun, put away your books!"

We awarded each dog with a superlative based on their personality. From "Nicest Eyes" and "Best Ears" to "Most School Spirit" and "Most Likely to Become President," our 2013 students were just as diverse and unforgettable as any high school senior class.

Was YOUR pet a part of our Pup Rally party? Look for their picture and superlative in our Class of 2013 yearbook!

For more daycare festivities, stay tuned for more information about our Halloween Party, "Muttster Mash!" On October 30th, we invite pups to come in costume for a day of spooktacular fall fun. Call us at 973-539-0377 for more information!

Doggie Daycare Parties for a Worthy Cause

Canines in Cancun Doggie Daycare will be
complete with souvenir photos and non-
alcoholic doggie beers to take home!

We’re getting our fiesta on! Tomorrow is our Canines in Cancun Daycare event, complete with swimming, souvenirs, photos, and of course, festive snacks. As we pamper our guests with canine quesadillas, we will also be collecting food for our human friends to donate to Morris County’s own Interfaith Food Pantry.

Interfaith’s goal is twofold; to provide access to food, nutrition education and resources for people in need and to educate the public about hunger issues and how to help. At Morris Animal Inn, we’ve set our own goal of giving back whenever we can. This time, we are proud to help contribute to the Interfaith Food Pantry’s important mission by turning Canines in Cancun into Canines with a Cause.

In the past, we’ve raised donations for a range of organizations, from fellow animal supporters to non-profits, including: Saint Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, Eleventh Hour Rescue, Make-A-Wish New Jersey and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Our guests have gone above and beyond to help us make an impact for these worthy causes, all of which are in need of our support.

Many food pantries often experience unbalanced donations. Interfaith sees an influx of contributions around the holiday season, for example, but less during this time of year. We encourage our guests to help us break this cycle by bringing non-perishable food items between 7 am and 7 pm tomorrow, Thursday, March 14. Every soup can, box of pasta and jar of peanut butter counts! For more information on what Interfaith Food Pantry needs most, visit http://www.mcifp.org/currentneeds.htm. Bring your donations and join us for a virgin margarita toast as we celebrate Canines in Cancun.

Belle's One Month Anniversary!

It's my one month anniversary. It feels like yesterday when I walked into the Morris Animal Inn lobby feeling like my life was about to change. And it really has in a good way! Working on my fitness has been the best thing to ever happen to me! I've met so many new companions – both human and canine.  Let me tell you all about the busy week I had!

With last week being the ‘Week of Love’ leading up to Valentine’s Day, everyone has been very cheerful. The word around the Group Play Yard was that a certain canine thought I was dog-gone cute! I was super surprised when my buddy, Leo asked me to be his Valentine! I was so happy, I couldn't wait to run and tell my girlfriends!

By the way, did I tell you that I love snow? Check out this video to see how much fun I had in the snow last week!

My training is going great! You should see how fast I am now on the treadmill! I'm still getting used to the Aqua Center but I'm sure I'll be swimming laps with Beckett in no time.

I had a really good feeling this week when I stepped on that scale. When my Fit Camp Trainer, Lisa said that my weight was down to 118lbs, I couldn’t help but let out an energized bark! I lost 3lbs in one week! That’s a total of almost 7lbs I have lost since I first came to Morris Animal Inn! I knew I was feeling great but knowing that I was able to lose that much, makes me even more motivated for next week! I've been losing about an inch a week around my belly too; at this rate, I’ll have a beach-ready body in no time!
