Busy Holidays, Good Food, and Keeping Fit

I've been dieting with my dog, and we both lost weight, but we still have to work hard to keep the weight off. Especially now around the holidays when there are so many cookies, parties and delicious holiday food. Actually, it's me who has to work hard, because Kelly won't be overweight if I don't feed her too much and give her fattening table scraps. So I try real hard to give her only what is good for her. Kelly's a great diet buddy, but sometimes I need a little more help. I usually eat low fat, whole grain diet but I often get stumped what to eat for lunch. So when I was invited to receive a coupon to try out the new Slim-Fast shakes, I was happy to give it a try and to tell you what I think about the new plan too. (*Not for dogs!)

Have you tried Slim-Fast before? I like the convenience, because I generally can't decide what to have for lunch or am sick of sandwiches or don't feel like washing and chopping veggies to make a salad. The new Slim-Fast 3-2-1 plan means I just need to drink a Slim-Fast shake or eat a Slim-Fast meal bar for breakfast and lunch. I can also have 3 snacks a day. Well, I like snacks! I try to eat healthy snacks anyway. With the Slim-Fast plan, I can have fruit (which is what I usually pick), veggies (kind of a hard sell for me, but sometimes I'll have carrot sticks or cucumber slices for a snack), nuts (almonds contain healthy fat) or a Slim-Fast snack bar (only 100 calories). For dinner, I eat a balanced, low fat meal and a salad.

I like to use Slim-Fast when I feel I need a little help to get back on track. I don't use it all the time, because I like variety and I get tired of doing the same thing. But it's a good product to use once in awhile. Like around the holidays.

I got my Slim-Fast shake at Wal-Mart, it is also available at Target, Safeway, Kroger and online. I bought Milk Chocolate and Strawberry flavors. The woman next to me in the store told me that she loves the Cappuccino one. There's also French Vanilla and Rich Chocolate Royale.

Kelly can't have Slim-Fast, but I can always grab one to go while we run out and take our walks together, and help me keep fit over the busy holiday season.
